Mr. Halterman is very accessible via phone and e-mail, which I really appreciate. He anticipated that it would take his crew a few weeks to get to my job, but OVER-ACHIEVED and got it done in a very short time. His crew is efficient and clean. THE END RESULT IS STRIKING. Chris Halterman runs his company with standards that I thought were long lost on contractors, namely absolute integrity regarding proposed solutions and strict fairness in pricing. Those standards, combined with a college trained staff, eye for detail, professionally trained designers, and world-class/personalized customer service has resulted in me wanting to recommend him to all of my friends. DOING LITERALLY WHATEVER IT TAKES to ensure his clients are honestly satisfied and going above and beyond what you hire him for sets Chris apart from the competition. Schedule well in advance though as his services are highly sought after for both residential and commercial projects, although he moved mountains to squeeze us into the schedule this year. Chris showed up when he said he would for estimates, work, etc (which we haven't always found to be the case in Morgantown.) He communicated with us along the way regarding rain delays ,etc. The main project for us was the replacement of our field stone walk that was deteriorating with a walk made out of pavers. We have been waiting to do this project for some time, so we were nervous about finding a landscaper that wouldn't disappoint us. We succeeded! WHAT REALLY IMPRESSED ME WAS THE NEATNESS OF THE WORK. Due to the curve of the walk, his crew had to cut the pavers into very small pieces to get the the curve to work. I was amazed at how small they could cut a paver and the straight lines that they maintained. Chris even brought in some river rock and filled in part of the space between the house and the walk which added another aesthetic touch. I still keep looking at the walk and I CAN'T BELIEVE HOW GOOD IT LOOKS! His crew is very diligent, hard working and best of all they know what they are doing! I enjoyed having them around. We would definitely hire Chris and his team again. —James H.

THEY DID A FANTASTIC JOB. Chris and his crew were very punctual and pleasant, and communicated with me in a timely manner throughout the project. The workers were very tidy and maintained/cleaned up the work area each day. It was evident that they paid a lot of attention to detail. They even provided some "additional" landscaping to the backyard just as an "extra" and also removed some concrete boulders and a brick fireplace. Additionally, the final total came in a little under the original estimate. I was extremely satisfied with the finished project. I plan to use them again this coming spring and would not hesitate to recommend their services to the community. —Patricia P.

Mr. Halterman & his staff were at all times professional and approachable. Their practical experience and creative vision made this major project manageable for us inasmuch as Mr. Halterman served as the liason between the various subcontractors also involved in the project. Mr. Halterman himself was available to answer whatever questions we had whenever we had them! He was responsive and attentive to detail like none other we have experience with--from cleaning up after each day, to keeping us advised of developments. TRULY, HE AND HIS STAFF WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND AND IT CLEARLY SHOWS IN THE END RESULT. The project was completed within budget and on time. We would strongly recommend Halterman Landscaping for any landscaping/excavating project...certainly one involving a pool installation.
